Carissime Amiche,

nell’ambito del progetto ‘IWG GOES PINK’ vorremmo offrire la possibilità alle socie (e non solo) di effettuare una mammografia ad un prezzo particolarmente vantaggioso.

Abbiamo pertanto affittato il Mammobus, un laboratorio mobile appositamente attrezzato, messoci a disposizione dalla Breast Cancer Foundation di Singapore in collaborazione con Diagnostics, National Healthcare Group.

L’evento si terrà il giorno mercoledì 23 ottobre dalle 09:00 alle 12:00 vicino alla sede della BCF (zona Kallang).

Lo screening ha una durata di 20 minuti e verrà eseguito al prezzo di SGD 107 a persona (per i foreigners), 25/35 SGD per i PR e 0/10 SGD per i cittadini di Singapore.

Per poter accedere al servizio, è necessario prenotarsi entro il 14 ottobre, scrivendo a secretary@iwgsingapore.org e fornendo nome, cognome e numero di passaporto/FIN.

Il giorno dell’esame le partecipanti straniere (non PR o cittadine di Singapore) dovranno portare il referral del medico. Tutti dovranno presentare un documento d’identità e provvedere al pagamento in loco (NETS o cash).

L’esito verrà inviato direttamente al medico che ha scritto il referral.

Ecco qui di seguito alcune condizioni per poter accedere al servizio:

– l’età minima è 40 anni (salvo situazioni particolari confermate dal medico)
– le partecipanti di età compresa tra 40-49 anni non devono aver effettuato un’altra mammografia nei 12 mesi precedenti
– le partecipanti di età 50+ non devono aver effettuato un’altra mammografia nei 24 mesi precedenti
– non è possibile accedere allo screening in caso di gravidanza o se si ha allattato nei 6 mesi precedenti
– le partecipanti non devono presentare dei sintomi, come noduli e/o perdite dal capezzolo.

In concomitanza con il Mammobus ci sarà un breve intervento di sensibilizzazione a cura della Breast Cancer Foundation, con informazioni sulla BCF, sul tumore al seno e su come eseguire l’auto palpazione, seguito dalla testimonianza di una sopravvissuta, che ci racconterà del suo cammino dalla diagnosi alla guarigione. Al termine ci sarà inoltre la possibilità di fare delle domande sul tema allo staff della BCF.

Tale intervento, totalmente gratuito, si terrà mercoledì 23 ottobre dalle 11:30 alle 12:30 circa presso la sede della BCF. Anche per questo evento vi prego di registrarvi scrivendo a: secretary@iwgsingapore.org

Prevention is the key!

This is why IWG would like to offer the possibility to do a mammogram screening at a very discounted rate. We have hired a mammobus, a mobile laboratory unit made available by the Breast Cancer Foundation in Singapore together with Diagnostics, National Healthcare Group. The mammobus will be parked near the BCF headquarters, by Kallang Leisure Park, on Wednesday 23rd October from 09:00 to 12:00.

In order to be eligible for the check-up, the participants need to comply with the following requirements:
– foreigners need to have a referral letter from a doctor. The results will be sent directly to the doctor.
– minimum age is 40
– participants aged 40-49 should not have done a mammogram in the last 12 months
– participants aged 50+ should not have done a mammogram in the last 24 months
– participants can not be pregnant and they should not have been breastfeeding in the last 6 months
– participants should not have breast symptoms like breast lumps and/or nipple discharge

We will need to submit a list of participants with name and passport/FIN number prior to the event date, therefore I would need to have the data by 14th October.

The exam lasts for 20 minutes and the cost is 107 SGD for foreigners, 25/35 SGD for PR‘s (depending whether it is a first timer or repeat screener) and 0/10 SGD for Singaporeans (with PG Card). The cost will have to be paid on the spot by NETS or cash.

Furthermore, on the same day there will be an awareness talk provided by Breast Cancer Foundation staff, which will include information on breast cancer, how to make a self-examination and an inspiring talk by a cancer survivor who will share her journey from diagnosis to recovery. The event is free of charge and will take place from 11:30 to 12:30 at the headquarters of BCF, 5 Stadium Walk, #04-03/08, Singapore 397693.
